Matrix Cipher Tutorial

Welcome to Matrix Cipher, a code-breaking game where you must decipher a secret sequence of numbers to break free from the Matrix!

Game Objective:

Your mission is to crack a secret 4-digit code within 10 attempts. Each digit is a number from 1 to 6. There is a hidden secret code that needs to be deciphered to win the game.

How to Play:

Let's see how the feedback system works with our example secret code 3 6 2 5:

Guess 1: 1 5 2 3

Result: 1 green peg (2 is correct position), 2 yellow pegs (5 and 3 are in secret but wrong positions)

Guess 2: 3 4 2 5

Result: 3 green pegs (3, 2, and 5 are in correct positions)

Guess 3: 3 6 2 1

Result: 3 green pegs (3, 6, and 2 are in correct positions)

Guess 4: 3 6 2 4

Result: 3 green pegs (getting closer!)

Guess 5: 3 6 2 5

🎉 SOLVED! All 4 green pegs - you cracked the code!

Generate Button:

For faster gameplay, you can use the "Generate" button in the first row only. This creates a random combination of four unique numbers (without repetition) to give you a quick starting point, regardless of the Repetition setting.

Timer Feature:

For extra challenge and fun, you can add a timer and try to crack the code before time runs out! You have different timer options available. With more practice, you will get better at solving it in less time than before.

• Set a timer from 1-10 minutes or play without time limit (OFF).
• Timer changes color: Green → Yellow (90 sec left) → Orange (60 sec left) → Red (30 sec left).
• If time runs out, the secret code is revealed automatically.

Feedback System:

• Green peg: Correct number in the correct position.
• Yellow peg: Correct number but in the wrong position.
• The arrangement of the pegs does not correspond to the positions in your guess.

Controls:

There are many ways to input numbers:

• Click or drag numbers from the number pad to any active slot.
• Drag numbers from previous rows to copy them to the current row.
• Simply click on a number in a previous row to copy it to the same column in the current row.
• Use your computer numpad 1-6 to input values, and press [Enter] to check.
• Use arrow keys to navigate between slots (wraps around from position 4 to 1).

Repetition Setting:

Before starting the game, you can toggle the "Repetition" setting:

Repetition Off: The secret code will contain 4 different numbers.

Example: 5 3 1 6

Repetition On: The secret code may contain repeated numbers in these patterns:

One Pair: 5 3 3 6

Three of a Kind: 1 4 4 4

Two Pairs: 2 2 3 3

Four of a Kind: 5 5 5 5
